I'm a big fan of Bialetti Moka Express, I have two pots (2 and 6 cups) at home and use them regularly. Unfortunately, the Mukka Express Cappuccinatore was a complete letdown for me. I've read and followed the manufacturer's instructions, viewed the instruction DVD, and read countless product reviews with helpful tips to ensure I get it working, to no avail. I've tried this pot a few times, adjusting the strength and diameter of the flame; time to prepare; and the size of the coffee grounds, but the result was almost never good and never consistent. Below are the problems I encountered. Some of the water always stayed in the lower chamber. As a result, you didn't get two cappuccinos, but one. Also, the cappuccino was more like coffee flavored milk as the intended coffee was made with some water and the rest just stood at the bottom. If I boiled it longer, the coffee would burn out before all the water was gone. If I boiled it on higher heat, the coffee from the pot would run down the sides and/or the coffee would burn. The coffee spilled out of the pot when the flame was too high (instructions recommend medium to high flame) or the coffee was too shallow. ground (the manual recommends ground espresso), despite the immaculate rim and securely screwed lid. What helped was coarser ground coffee or a lower flame. But if the flame was reduced too much, there was little froth and the milk wasn't hot enough. On a higher flame, the froth and milk temperatures were fine, but the coffee spread all over my stovetop. That was impossible. Another minor annoyance was cleaning the unit - the valve had to be cleaned immediately or it would clog with milk. The device is heavy and bulky, not the easiest to use (unscrew, unscrew, wash) for a person with small hands (meaning Mukka for 2 cups). Coffee is good but not great. The cappuccinos are (1) quite small and (2) rather weak. You're better off using a regular Moka Express to make espresso and add milk froth separately - I did that before getting this unit and will do it again after I returned it, which I did after a week of trying have done. I think part of the problem is the design of American stoves. In Europe, stoves have much smaller burners with narrower flames and lower grates, so the flame is more direct. In the US, the grates are taller, the burners are larger, and the flames are less spaced. I've found that my Moka pots work better with a small camp stove, so the same might be true of the Mukka Express. If you have a ceramic or electric stove, this machine can work very well. However, my advice would be to get a regular Moka Express and a milk frother for a small price and enjoy simpler and better quality cappuccinos and lattes.
