I've used the Pinlock system on almost all of my helmets for the last 10+ years. After installation and configuration, the system works perfectly for me. I've ridden without the Pinlock system in heavy rain and had to keep prying open the face shield to keep it from fogging up. With the Pinlock system, fogging of the face shield is no longer a problem. A few tips: 1. The system works by creating a sealed two-tone window where the insert is attached to the protective mask. When installing the insert, be sure to follow the installation instructions and make sure the arrows (pointers) on the post are pointing forward (because the visor is closed on the helmet). If you notice fogging under the inserted insert, rotate both Pinlock mounting posts slightly (equally on each side) until fogging stops. Also, when adjusting, make sure the bar pointers are oriented in the same direction with respect to the helmet: 45 degrees up and forward, straight up, straight down, etc. This keeps the cam faces of each bar in the same orientation and deployment strengthen. move forward equally on both sides.2. The insert is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture), which means it absorbs moisture that forms between the screen and the insert. Therefore, it is recommended never to wash the insert with water or get it wet. This probably won't damage the insert, but will shorten its lifespan. Mine got a little damp at times from rain seeping through the unsealed face shield, but they all continued to function normally for quite a while.
