When the unit first arrived I performed the pre-rinse procedure as instructed. My tap water was 250ppm and the system was putting out 100ppm. With the existing reverse osmosis system in my house, I isolated and tested all parts of the unit only to find that the reverse osmosis element was not working. I ordered a replacement and now the system generally works fine. This reduces my water to 0 ppm. However, my concern is why the filter didn't work. Maybe the filter was just defective. But the more curious side of me is wondering if the system I received was used and returned after a little filter change action. Who knows. The end result is an additional $17 on the price and several wasted hours troubleshooting. I would still say the overall system is fine but I would consider others.
