I have owned many Ninja blenders over the years. Systems always work reasonably well, and this model is no exception. In fact, I like this model more than any other I've had. This system works quite well, even with ice and hard fruits/veggies. I particularly like the smoothie mode, which allows the blender to pulse and run at varying intervals to give ingredients time to settle between blends. Blendability is a solid five stars. The addition of slicing and grating plates is fantastic! I have a large KitchenAid stand mixer, but it's only used a few times a year so it takes up a lot of counter space. While these plates don't work as perfectly as a dedicated food processor, they are perfect for my infrequent needs. What I don't like about this system is the style of the cup lids. This style is common to every Ninja product and I've complained about it every time I've reviewed the Ninja blender. The lids screw into the container, not from the outside. This leaves an unfinished border with ridges on the outside of the cups. Also, they can be twisted very easily. If you do this and don't realize it, your cup will eventually leak.
