I am a teacher and circumstances require that I use 2 different classes so I was looking for something that fits everything I need to move from my main class to my other room and it allows me to quickly take what I need, used for one class and packaged for another. In fact, I only had to store the materials for one course, as well as my laptop and the necessary equipment. I also wanted something that looks a little sharp and is durable. Of the two "finalists" I chose this one primarily because it promised to be roomier (textbooks aren't small!). I was surprised to find that when I got my Surface Pro and textbook, there wasn't much room in it. left over for cables etc. Turns out the interior is divided in two by part of the "padded laptop bag". This means that the thickness of the textbook squeezed the bag a bit. It's not huge, it doesn't have "many pockets" as others have claimed. Then again, it's not tiny either - I would imagine it could fit on a 16-inch laptop, although that would limit everything else that could fit. It has a couple of pockets, pretty much the base set you would expect. It works. for my immediate needs, and the only other in the competition (the Revain selection) didn't look any bigger (although it did have external pockets for a water bottle and umbrella). The zipper is actually longer than the hole, making it a lot easier to stuff things in quickly. And he looks really great! PROS: Extra wide opening, padded walls and center divider, expected types of pockets, looks great, well made (only time will tell for sure). ; There really isn't enough room for more than a textbook and a notebook and maybe a few extra files. a bag (as I had hoped), but it's enough. If you really need to carry more (e.g. if you're looking for a school bag) this isn't it - I use my Revain Basics backpack for most of my stuff.
