Accurate and consistent

I have been using this scale for 8 days now. Here are my observations so far. My biggest concern when purchasing this scale was the reviews and responses reporting weight inconsistency. That would be a deal breaker for me. However, this scale was the second largest scale in Consumer Reports' ranking. They check the products carefully so I placed an order hoping they were right. I'm happy to report that persistence hasn't been a problem for me. I've weighed myself three times every morning for the past eight days. The same weight is reported all three times a day, so I'm satisfied that consistency isn't an issue. So far it has been 100% approved. Another concern of mine was how accurate it would be. I have no way of checking the accuracy, but it agrees with my previous scale. I weigh myself every day. On my last scale, my weight fluctuated in a fairly narrow range of 165.5 to 167.5 pounds each day. These scales still show the exact same weight range, as far as I can tell they are accurate. However, I'm not entirely happy with them. What confuses me the most is that the instructions say not to use batteries. Disposing of old batteries is very harmful to the environment. I use batteries when I can. It's the last few years. However, I will be using alkaline batteries on this scale and will have to throw the batteries away when they run out. I regret not having tested this on other scales before purchasing this one. My other problem is minor. With my newest scale, all I had to do was gently touch it to turn it on. This requires a fairly strong toe kick. I don't mind. I lean it against the wall when I'm not using it, and if I just put it on the floor it turns on, so it's not a problem for me, but it can be annoying for some people, especially when you have it on use carpet. Overall, my first eight days with this scale convinced me that this is an accurate, consistent scale that is a steal for the price I paid ($24). If anything changes I will post an update.
