I bought this hour meter after buying one of the $8 junk knockoffs that reads 1/10th of an hour and was useless... After I Once I got this meter, I quickly installed it and couldn't get any readings. Mounted on a Generac IQ2000 Inverter Generator, this little beast is very well made and super insulated for soundproofing. Simply wrapping the sensor wire around the tip of the spark plug didn't work, not because of the gauge but because of the heavy duty insulated spark plug wire and spark plug boot. I contacted support and spoke to Brian who was very knowledgeable, helpful, patient and most importantly honest! Over the next hour I exchanged several photos of the Generac engine with Brian, who patiently gave me some other suggestions. Finally we received a voltage pulse to activate the counter. Strip the sensor wire about 1 ½ inches and actually insert it into the spark plug boot SUCCESS! This kind of customer service is unheard of today! Thanks very much!
