Review on Enhance Your Workspace with the Wacom Flex Arm (ACK62803K) by Bill Russett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easily attaches to a desk, very sturdy construction

For weeks after purchasing the Cintiq Pro 24 I wondered if the flex arm would be right for me. I had a really inefficient setup that required a lot of awkward lifting and pushing to get my Cintiq out of its storage place (in the flimsy foam sleeve it was wrapped in, rolled over and propped between my heavy desk and the wall to store it) . a cat). away from it) to where I used it (the bottom rested on the edge of the keyboard drawer and the legs rested on my desk). I knew I needed a flexible arm, I just really didn't know if it could be attached to my desk which has a 4 inch vertical panel on the back. I contacted Wacom and turns out they didn't think so either. There would be a way, and suggested finding an Ergotron mount instead. After looking at the photos of the desktop mount, it turned out that THERE IS A WAY TO INSTALL IT! Basically all I had to do was drill two holes in the back of my desk (well I actually had to drill 4 as the first two were too low) and buy two longer 14mm screws (screws contain about 1/2 inch, I ended up doing). 1 1/2", be sure to fit a hex screw as the underside of the table can be awkward for a screwdriver). I have attached some photos of my mount. So if anyone is wondering if their table can accommodate a flexible arm, it can! The flexible arm is very strong and stable! I've heard a lot of people say their joints are loose, but when I set mine up, I could barely move a single joint. Each joint has a hex screw somewhere to tighten or loosen the joint, and I had to loosen the vertical arm significantly before I could drop the Cintiq in my lap. For anyone wondering, there's an absolute tightness that allows you to move the Cintiq from its stowed position to the character position you're using without wobbling. The flexible arm is very stable, but it also requires an equally stable table; The mount weighs a ton! I'm not taking a single star off my rating for the extra work to install it because it didn't bother me and I truly believe you get what you pay for in quality. I know the price isn't for everyone, but I'm a 100 percent supporter of Wacom products and have been supporting them for over a decade. If you want lasting quality, spend the money.
