Programming the keys and fob took only minutes and was as easy as following the clear instructions on the Discount Keys website (URL included in the box). The buttons aren't GM marked (as expected), but they work just like the originals. My key cutting experience could save you a few cycles: Home Depot refused to cut the key, saying it was company policy to only cut the blanks supplied. They offered to cut a blank that would fit the profile but was pure metal - no transponder key - no thanks. Ace Hardware was about to cut the blanks, but their cutting machine identified the original as a "sniffer key". I'm told the process consists of reading the code in the car with a device (snoop?) which then programs the key. It may be required for later models which usually require dealer programming but not my 2008 Suburban. The car was in a different location so I asked them to cut the keys anyway. Ace Hardware promised to pay less than $4 a blank after warning that the keys might not work. The buttons work great after following simple programming instructions. Hope my experience helps someone!
