Dealer pays to cut each key and they work great. However, they were unable to program the remotes and told me they were wrong, so I printed off the online manual, went to the car and 'bingo'! Programmed them in two minutes. Moral of the story - do it yourself!

Pros
  • Consistent results when tested
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Fast, easy and efficient!

I was able to program both remotes to work in less than 5 minutes, including opening the box, finding the vehicle specific instructions on the manufacturer's website, printing them out, reading them and following them. Compare 2 remotes (with keys) for $30 to a remote from a leading national auto parts chain for $84 and this product should get SIX STARS!

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • unreliable

Try this first! Suitable for keyless entry systems

I bought two fobs and keys. Took them to a local locksmith and programmed them. My car needs a scanner to program it, so I couldn't do it myself. Locksmith programmed both fobs, cut and programmed both keys for $37! Spent about $60 on two new keychains and keys! The retailer wanted to charge me a low price of $300 for ONE. They work great and cost a lot less, try them before you spend outrageous dealer prices!

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Some disadvantages

I can't tell you how happy I am

The easiest thing I've ever had to do. The website describes how to program the fob and key for my 2008 Buick Enclave. Took me about 2 minutes to make 3 keychains and 3 keys. were my own preparations. I can't say enough about how pleased I am. Don't know about the quality yet, let's see how long they last, but they look the same as my old one. Thank you for making this so user friendly.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I have doubts

No problem - anti-theft protection

Need a replacement for my 2017 Buick Enclave. Went to a locksmith who cut the keys ($2 each) and programmed the remotes ($30) with no problems. Everything works great (all buttons and remote functions) for a total price ($59) less than what the dealer would charge me to program the remotes ($65). The first time I programmed the keys (start with old key, turn off and insert new key and start within 5 seconds) I got a theft alert from OnStar, but that was just the first time. Didn't have any ofโ€ฆ

Beyond Happy in Anti-Theft

Amazing! So very happy! I have a 2010 Buick Enclave and it was a breeze. Home Depot also cuts them for free. I programmed the first button and the second came automatically. Had to go through the remotes a few times because at first he only wanted to install two instead of the three we had, but then it worked. Tonight someone gave me back my lost keys so now we have four sets haha that need to be reprogrammed because if you do that you will lose the previous programs (all key fobs must beโ€ฆ

Perfect fit for my 2011 GMC Acadia

After losing one of my two sets of keys I went to the dealer for a replacement. They wanted about $190 for a key and a fob that they programmed for another $60. Instead, I ordered a set of two keys and two fobs from Discount Keyless for less than $35. The dealer's parts department cut 2 keys from my current key free of charge. I quickly set up the keys by first putting the original key in the ignition and turning the ignition on and then off. I immediately repeated the on/off process with newโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Minor repair

Ideal replacement after cutting keys.

Programming the keys and fob took only minutes and was as easy as following the clear instructions on the Discount Keys website (URL included in the box). The buttons aren't GM marked (as expected), but they work just like the originals. My key cutting experience could save you a few cycles: Home Depot refused to cut the key, saying it was company policy to only cut the blanks supplied. They offered to cut a blank that would fit the profile but was pure metal - no transponder key - no thanksโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Clarity

Very simple and effective!

Key fobs are very easy to program using Dorman's remote programming tool. I needed a programming tool because my car is from 2012. Alternatively, you can contact your dealer or locksmith. The programming tool is plugged into the vehicle's OBD2 port and put into security programming mode, after which the key fobs can be easily programmed. Be sure to follow the instructions on the programmer. They are quite simple, but they must be observed. I've only used mine once to program 3 fobs but readโ€ฆ
