The device breaks after you connect more than 2 external drives. I've tested this with 1 USB-C connection and 2 USB-A > USB-C connections and on different ports on both the device and my computer as well as the power adapter connected and after this 3rd device my connected drives start up with no errors to disconnect and reconnect and the third drive does not even appear. If it's just my device's fault then so be it, but if they're all a problem then what good is a hub that just gives you an extra input? I'll report back if I hear nothing from the manufacturer.
