Review on Computer acoustics Edifier R1100 dark wood by DaHee Cheon ᠌

A really necessary purchase, glad I found this product.

Great speakers for your money. Don't count on bass. They are able to give out bass, but you will need to turn up the volume, and lower the mids and highs with an equalizer. It's all about the size of the speaker. (See "equal-loudness contour" on Wikipedia). I bought a 7.1 Sound Blaster X3 sound card for movies and games, but there are no 7.1 acoustic sets for sale! I had to type from stereo pairs. I put more impressive speakers on the fronts, and scored satellites with these. I am very pleased, although I had to tinker with laying the wires, and the wires themselves cost significant money (power, signal and acoustic).

Pros
  • 1. There are no complaints about the sound. 2. No hum (unshielded cable may produce a slight hum). 3. The phase inverter does not mumble (I did not try it at maximum volume). 4. Front-facing bass reflex allows you to place speakers close to the wall without losing bass. 5. Detachable cables (except power supply). 6. Included speaker cable about 2.5 m, 2xRCA—2xRCA 1.5 m and 2xRCA—minijack 1.5. 7. Two entrances. 8. Sufficiently massive for their size and price. 9. Good build quality. Nothing dangles, the "wood-like" coating does not peel off (at the beginning of use).
Cons
  • 1. There is no treble control. 2. All controls are on the back, but in my case it's more of an advantage - control from the sound card.
