iPad was not dropped and the screen is cracked. I bought this for my 15 year old son's brand new iPad because the Otterbox didn't seem to have a protective case for the iPad 7 and this looked like the most protective option on the market. My 15 year old son is a very responsible child. I haven't seen him drop a device since he was 9 years old. If you need a case to protect your iPad from small children who leave it, don't get this. .**************************************************** *** ****** ******** **Edited 12/1/19 to add that the screen replacement on my son's iPad 7 is almost $175. We had to wait two weeks because the replacement screens were not ordered (the vendors had just started selling). Meanwhile, I finally found a $90 Otterbox Defender at Target for same-day pickup. Next time we need to replace a tablet, I won't buy anything unless Otterbox issues a case for it.
