I'm relatively new to calligraphy; I did some stuff in art school, but most of my work has been in digital media for the past 15 years. I've been very nostalgic for handlettering lately, and after reading a few reviews and watching YouTube clips, I decided to give Pilot Parallel a try. I chose 1.5mm as it seemed less intimidating to me as I am new to calligraphy. Loading ink was a breeze, and while I haven't had to reload it yet, I don't foresee any problems. The pen work is amazing, the ink flows smoothly and evenly in solid beautiful lines. I recommend you make sure you get good quality paper, my first tests were on low quality printer paper which resulted in some bleed. As much as I love this one, I think it lends itself better to decorative scrolls than actual inscriptions. That being said, I highly recommend this pen and I plan on buying another 3 sizes soon!
