TLDR: Didn't work for me but I could probably recommend it provided the problems I was having were related to me. Works on MacBook Pro 2020 with Big Sur. Does not require configuration, achieves the promised speed of 10 Gb / s. Everything was fine for a couple of weeks, but then he started behaving. It heats up, which I expected, but now when it heats up it disconnects every few minutes or suddenly stops loving the port it was plugged into and I have to switch it. It stopped working twice but used so much power that it drained my MacBook Pro's battery in less than 2 hours while it was plugged in. Help. To be honest, I'm not sure if the problem is with the device itself or just the flash. Thunder. I've used several Thunderbolt devices and some of them just don't seem to work. I have asked for these units to be replaced in the past and the replacement had the same issues. It may well be a problem with my computer, but a large number of devices work very well and I don't really care about them. looked at. Many people report that it works great on Mac and I just received a test case. But for now I'll just return it and use my old 1g adapter. For the money I spent on this, I'd love it if it "just worked". Also, as much as it costs, I can confirm reports that it only works with the included cable as far as I can tell. I tried 3 other different cables and although they were all Thunderbolt 3 certified none of them worked. Before I blame Caldigit, I suspect it has to do with the length. The included cable is quite short, shorter than any other cable I've tested with. Based on how much heat it's producing, it's probably conducting a lot of current through that wire. It also definitely pushes a lot of data. Considering that the power dissipation increases the longer it has to travel, I suspect it just can't make that connection with a longer cable, which is why it's refusing to connect. I can't blame anyone for the limits of physics. After all this, can I recommend them? Uh, probably. If it works, great. It just doesn't work for me anymore and I don't want to fix it. Anyway, I'd like to sell my MacBook and go back to Linux/Windows for various other reasons. So don't take it too seriously, just be aware that you may encounter problems. Returning Prime is free, so give it a try. If it doesn't work, just send it back. If that's the case and you need a 10 Gbps connection, you're good to go.
