I've moved two Vespas across the country (and back) on a small flatbed trailer. I built the wooden deck myself and then installed two Condor wedges. Handlebar straps and ratchet straps were used to tie it down, but the real security came from these wedges. They are very easy to install (the two metal plates per shoe that come with the shoes attach to the trailer frame and deck to attach screws that hold the shoes in place - this makes it easier to remove the shoes - the ones that come with the The screws supplied with the shoes were too short to fit through the deck and frame - no big deal, I bought longer ones from Lowe's - you have to drill holes to install these plates, no big deal). They are heavy and hard. Bicycles only stand with the front wheels retracted. You must be careful when rolling your bike onto the trailer and into the block. But once you're seated, you can let go of the bike (you can't tip it over even if you try) and buckle your handlebars and seatbelt. Then you left There are other ways to do this, certainly less expensive ways. It was hard to spend the money but looking back I'm very glad I did. If you're serious about getting into Vespa transport, I recommend spending the extra money to get one. They are made to fit small scooter wheels.
