My dentist has told me that I need a night guard because excessive grinding causes my teeth to move at night. I also had an occasional headache from grinding my teeth in the morning. Even with insurance, a night guard at the dentist would cost over $600. I had one from another dentist about 2 years ago and couldn't use it and ended up throwing it away.
