This classic 100% cotton, non-iron shirt with long sleeves and a wide collar from Buttoned Down is a near-perfect shirt. The fabric is luxurious Supima cotton. Supima cotton (sometimes called Pima) is made from a special, very long-staple cotton that is only grown in the USA. Pima cotton is the Rolls-Royce of cotton, known for its silky hand, lustrous sheen and exceptional durability. I choose Pima cotton for my art quilts, even if it's expensive, because it lasts forever and feels so good against the skin. You will love the feel of the shirt! A streak of rich but vibrant blues and whites, and it's just gorgeous. In addition, the strip becomes visually slimmer. The cut is classic, meaning it's a little roomier than the fitted cut, but is still thinner in the waist than some other brands. There is a pleat on the back for more comfort. If you have well developed shoulders or a small tummy this style will fit you, but if you have large shoulders or a large tummy you should probably look at another brand as the classic fit is only 2 1/2. 2 inches wider at the chest and 2 inches wider at the waist for a slim fit. The sleeves have a very long button placket with buttons, which makes it easier to roll up the sleeves. There are two buttons on the cuffs. I love the fold out collar for a modern look and for easy tying. The collar is thinner than other collar styles and looks great both unbuttoned and with a tie. Removable collar holders are installed in the collar. The processing corresponds to that of a luxury shirt. Simply beautifully done. All seams are flat, meaning they are completely flat and sewn to stay flat. The buttons are very durable and will stand up to commercial washing and pressing. There's even thin contrast piping on the inseam of the yoke. Two extra buttons are sewn on the bottom in case you lose one. This cotton has been treated so that it cannot be ironed if you follow the washing instructions, tumble dry and remove quickly. The current price of $50 is very good. for a shirt of this quality and craftsmanship. It compares well to some of my husband's shirts that cost twice as much. You can expect this shirt to last for many years without holes or wear on the collar and sleeves.
