Review on Kasa Smart Changing Dimmable Compatible Light Bulb by Heather Reyes

I have been using Kasa Smart Bulbs for several years. Their old models (like the white LB120) are just great. Some of them are still in my apartment and they work great. These newer models (color KL125) work fine aside from the annoying fact that they randomly disconnect from WiFi, especially when the light is off but the bulb is still on (the light switch is on but the bulb is off) . Serious. Each of the four bulbs in this kit will turn off overnight, but none of the older LB120 bulbs will. That's not my router either: after all, they're connected to a TP-Link router. These disconnects don't render the bulbs useless, but they definitely aren't "smart" enough: to plug them back in you have to turn them off and on again, which isn't a terrible inconvenience but defeats the purpose of having smart bulbs in the first place . I've also noticed that these newer models don't always respond correctly to Alexa commands. For example, they ask for a color and Alexa sometimes makes them white. I also have an older colored Kasa lightbulb (KL130) that also turns off randomly (although not every day), but this at least always seems to respond correctly to Alexa commands. In short, Kasa lightbulbs proved excellent a few years ago. The sleeveless lamp was and is a particularly attractive feature and it worked brilliantly a few years ago. Today, however, the quality of Kasa lamps seems to have deteriorated so much that even the lack of a hub cannot make up for it. I won't just return them because it's too difficult to disassemble them all. them again, package and ship, and then reconfigure my entire Kasa setup. As I said earlier, lightbulbs aren't completely useless, just not "smart" enough. But I will consider switching from Kasa to another system unless TP-Link releases firmware that fixes these issues.
