Bought this rope to trim some spruce trees in my garden. It does well on trees up to 24-28 inches in diameter and is too short for anything larger. The rope holds quite well on spruce trees with rough bark, a lot of sap and sharp branches. Rope cover is slightly worn. but otherwise the leash is in good condition. The carbine is quite cheap, but strong and reliable. The aluminum clip holds the leash securely but is a bit finicky at times. I originally used this flipline with a harness and it was difficult to reverse the line thanks to the center attachment point on the front loop lines. This reversible sling works much better with an arborist or lineman harness that has D-rings at the hips on either side. This makes the line throw smoother and also provides more stability when climbing. .I would recommend a heavier line for anything but the occasional tree climb. The small diameter of this fishing line will tire your hands after a while. This isn't a big problem if you're just climbing a tree or two.
