Review on πŸ’¦ Hyaluronic Acid Cream: Enhanced Skincare with Liposomally Based Moisturizer - 57g by Jason Whitaker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

More of a lotion than a cream, it helps moisturize my dry skin but is very expensive for what you get.

Hygieia Hyaluronic Acid Cream is a good product that moisturizes my very dry skin well and helps reduce some signs of aging (temporarily of course). However, it's very expensive, and I'm not sure if it's really comfortable enough. This cream is really something between a lotion and a cream - it's quite runny and is drawn out of a jar with fingertips or an applicator. On my skin, it glides on gently and spreads easily, absorbing within minutes. Leaves no residue and does not make the skin sticky. It's quite moisturizing and my face feels smooth, but it's also a little light so I prefer to use it during the day and switch to something more intense at night. If I treat it like a moisturizer and apply it in the morning after my toner and serum, I have to repeat once or twice throughout the day. If I treat it like a serum and put my regular moisturizer on top then I'm ready for the day. My skin is not only extremely dry and prone to roughness, but also very sensitive. This product does not cause irritation or redness. I understand that liposomal delivery is becoming more common in cosmetics, but I have to question the statement that "the key ingredients of any cream are delivered directly to your mitochondria" - huh? As? Why? What specific ingredients? What is the effect on the mitochondria? I searched the Hygieia website for more information on the science of liposomal action and was not satisfied. It simply states that unlike other molecules that remain on the surface, liposomes fuse with the skin and enter the bloodstream, but it says nothing about how they act on mitochondria or for what purpose. Hmmmpfff. The cream is packaged in a fairly standard plastic jar, which is surprising for such an expensive product. It also creates a rather messy experience when applying the product. I think it would be way better in a bottle with a pump feeding system. I have other products with hyaluronic acid (the only active ingredient according to the label) that are just as effective and much cheaper. The current price of this cream is $59.99 which is too expensive for me to buy without knowing much more about the ingredients and the real science behind the supposed effects.
