Worth every penny good for me

I had an invasion this summer of cicada wasp killers. I know they were not poisonous but they were digging up my garden and digging down at the roots of a lot of my plants so unfortunately I did have to do something. At first I called orkin and they brought somebody out that sprayed my garden which only scared my bugs away for a day. Finally I thought I would just take care of it myself and I purchase this online and it was delivered in 2 days. I captured and killed about 80 cicada wasp killers

Pros
  • The group disappeared.
Cons
  • Telescoping handle may not stay locked in place

Not sturdy. on my review.

I like the expandable nature of this product but in practice because it can telescope, it doesn't lock into position so trying to swing the net just twists around in the air and is not effective.

Pros
  • The 38-inch telescoping handle allows for effortless reach and access to even the highest branches
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with limited light or visibility

OK for the price, but not quite as advertised

Does fold up if that's what you want (does make the ring less sturdy). Probably best for bugs only. That's why I got it so will keep. Handle is only 48" (not 59), inside diameter of ring is 11" (not 12) :-(Says it can be used for chickens, they better be small or netting would rip. I don't think I could get one of my hens into it on the run. I use a fishing net if I need for some odd reason they won't let me pick them up.

Pros
  • Hoop didn't measure 16 inches in diameter. That is what I paid for.
Cons
  • May be easily damaged or broken

Excellent Net for Bug Catching!

I currently live on the third floor of an apartment and like to keep the patio door open for airflow. There's no screen door and occasionally something flies into the apartment. I originally ordered this after a small bird flew in and was quite difficult to catch (it ended badly with my cat catching the bird). Yesterday, I returned from a walk and there were 6-10 wasps flying around my living room! There must've been a weird wind gust or something that drove them in. Grabbed my net and was able

Pros
  • Great for getting the little hummingbirds that fly into our enclosed porch.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use by children or inexperienced users

Ok for fun on my review.

I got this for my husband because he wants to catch bugs… he likes it ok and has used it to successfully remove a wasp from the house. His complaints are that he wants a larger net and he wants to be able to flick his wrist to flip the net over in itself; his ability to do so is hindered by the net size and the nested sections of the telescoping pole rotating on themselves rather than staying in place which would allow him to rotate the entire handle.

Pros
  • Present
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use by those with limited mobility

You can catch things with this

This net is a bit flimsy and the extending handle doesn't always stay where it's meant to. It's good for catching insects such as butterflies and lacewings. You can also use it to chase your broken dreams.

Pros
  • Professional bug catching net is much more durable than others.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use by those with allergies to certain insects

Catches carpenter bees!

I have a problem with carpenter bees nesting in my siding. They have been impossible to to kill using "electric bug zapper” racquets. I received my net today and trapped my first carpenter bee as he was returning to the nest inside my siding. The bee is in custody. The extendable handle on the net makes it possible to capture the bees from a greater distance. Good design and well made. A good start to solving a challenging problem.

Pros
  • Learning & Education
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with high humidity

Great net for butterflies

I love this net, it is perfect for rescuing tennis balls and frogs from our pool. The extending handle makes it very easy to use. Occasionally, we catch a Dragonfly inside the pool cage and we rescue them.

Pros
  • The compact size makes it easy to transport and store
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with limited access to medical care in case of accidental insect or butterfly bites

Perfect butterfly net

What a great net! It’s strong, sturdy, lightweight so a child can also use it, and is well made great quality and a great price: win-win! I am actually using it to catch the occasional untame parakeet from our flock when I need to do a nail trim or one of them won’t go back in their cages at night, and it’s been a very gentle and not scary way to do that for them-and the net is holding up perfectly for small birds so I can only imagine it would be a silky soft place for capturing butterflies as

Pros
  • Science Kits & Toys
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use during certain times of the year due to insect or butterfly migration patterns

Life saver in my review

I HATE bugs and also feel bad when I kill them so This helps me on all fronts. I have used this on two crickets, flying thing, and a spider and it worked great!

Pros
  • Upgraded Telescopic handle is lockable, stay extended and won’t twists while being used. Stong stainless Handle extends from 15" to 38", perfect for kids, adults and beginning collectors.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with limited access or difficult terrain

Finally caught Mr chipmunk that was in the house.

Took a total of 5 minutes and I had him. Used it for Halloween but it’s very good quality the handle is heavy and metal. Net was deep enough he didn't climb back out unlike my 10" inch old one.

Pros
  • Used it for Halloween but it’s very good quality the handle is heavy and metal
Cons
  • May not be large enough to capture larger insects or butterflies

Should Be Fun best in my review

Got this for grand kids. Haven’t used any because it is winter, but looks and feels very durable. It should be good for hours of butterfly chasing.

Pros
  • The net is easy to clean and maintain
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with limited access to insecticides or other pest control methods

The fabric is a bit stiff, but it extends so I can reach. Butterflies can't figure out how to escape from the screen once they get to the swamp milkweed I'm growing and will keep battering their poor little bodies against the screen. If you have amazing reflexes you'll be able to catch them very easily like my husband. If you're like me, you'll be able to get them out after two or three minutes of Keystone Kop moves that you hope no one sees (excuse, I'm 72), but it's great for the price and…

Pros
  • The net material is coarser than I would prefer for butterfly’s
Cons
  • May not be durable enough for extended use

Nice look and features, but isn’t built to last

I love the finish of this product, the telescoping nature, and especially the long net. However, it didn’t last two weeks of me using it to catch grasshoppers to feed my chickens, before the handle snapped on me. The netting also didn’t stand up to my rough sweeping of the ground and areas with branchesI might reuse the hoop and get netting material that is more robust to tearing, and replace the handle with a strong piece of wood.If you are just using this to gently sweep grass in pastured…

Pros
  • Worked as advertised did not break.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with high traffic or other potential hazards

Heavy. Hard for my child to wield this net

It certainly does the job, my daughter and I have caught many winged bugs with no harm to the animals. It is a bit heavy for my child's weaker arms and the telescoping feature provided no extra help, although we did use it to skim grass out of our kiddy pool and it worked well for that too.

Pros
  • I use it for catching yellow jackets when he swarm my outdoor cats food.
Cons
  • May not be comfortable to hold for an extended period

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not for younger kids

My feeling is it would be better for an adult or someone at least over 8. Too difficult for my 5 year old. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • I received item in good condition 👍
Cons
  • May be difficult to clean after use

Sturdy but compact enough to store without hassle

It's pretty light but sturdy. Great that it can extend, especially if bugs scare you up close. It was really easy to assemble and small enough that you don't have to take it apart to save room, but large enough that you won't lose it.The only thing concern was the handle. The handle smelled so bad, super chemical rubber smell. Even after letting it sit out for a couple of day, it was was so unpleasant. Luckily the handle is a sleeve so I was able to slice it off. But even without the handle…

Pros
  • Easy to assembly, light and did not injure my escapee from the cage.
Cons
  • Not suitable for catching flying insects

Great, high quality insect net!

This insect net is a high quality product. The telescoping pole is very well made using quality materials. The netting is also high quality material. One has to assemble it from two folded down segments, the pole and the net/hoop. The pole is simply telescoped down to its shortest position and the hoop is partially disconnected but has the net on one part. Join the hinged parts to complete the hoop while arranging the net on the rods, then screw the telescoping pole onto the net hoop assembly…

Pros
  • The netting material is strong enough to withstand rugged outdoor conditions
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas where insects or butterflies are likely to be carrying diseases or parasites

It’s ok. Some cons….

So I like this net. It’s quite sturdy and I think it would hold up well with constant use. Some of the telescoping parts don’t stay up when pulled all the way out. (2 of them) Considering this, I think it was a little overpriced. I duck taped mine so it looks super janky but works.

Pros
  • Nets for insect specimen capture, fit to capture different butterfly, dragonfly, bat, fish, bird, bee and other bugs.
Cons
  • May require additional training or experience to effectively use

Works really well! - my new review

This is a nice product to keep around for just those times! I have used it to capture a dragonfly that accidently got into the house and I also purchased one for work for the occasional bird that flies into the warehouse. The extension is great for high ceilings. The net is deep to hold the creature until one gets outside to let it loose. It is soft too, so unlikely to cause injury to delicate ones. Great for capturing small pets during emergency evacuations when you've got to grab them fast!

Pros
  • The 24-inch depth ensures insects and butterflies are safely enclosed within the net
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in areas with limited access to the outdoors
