I live in southern Utah so lots of hiking in all terrains. These are better than some other hiking shoes I have tried which are usually too heavy for me. These are lighter but still have weight, but not like bricks. Like other top name brand shoes they don’t have a lot of give so there is a breaking in period to where you want them to be more flexible, however no issues here with blisters or soreness on my feet. It’s often in the 100s here so these are helping keep my feet safe from weather, rocks, and critters I don’t want to accidentally encounter. Also I can report they hold up against cacti as I had to slip through an area - don’t worry, no cacti we’re harmed and either were my feet. Overall the ties are good, I feel they’re roomy for thick socks in winter and are built to last through mud and rain and whatever you want to put yourself through. 4 1/2 stars rating for me.
