I wasn't quite sure what to expect from these drying balls but decided to give them a try as I can no longer use colored or scented detergents. As a result, they became an unexpected hit. They are energy efficient as they reduce drying time by an average of around 15 minutes per load. I haven't had any static issues (although I haven't used them in low humidity winters yet). The family said they missed the "fresh" smell of the dryer, but that was easily remedied by tossing a clean washcloth with some essential oil on each load of clothes. I've been using these dryer balls for three months now and they're holding up well; They look the same as the day I received them.
