This material is well suited for maintaining and/or restoring the skin's elasticity. I use it for car seats and some work boots. Twice a year maintenance keeps my black car seats in excellent condition - once in May and then again in December. I live in Southern California and go to the desert quite often; very dry. Follow the instructions, rub it with medical rubber gloves, hand or a sponge (the sponge holds a lot of oil, hands need to be washed well) and leave it in the sun of the car on the seats for 24 hours during the day. keep windows closed to allow oil to enter; then clean with cleaning fluid. Other brands of pH neutral cleaners that don't have a strong odor, like L., are a viable alternative to expensive Leatherique cleaners.
