Definitely don't pump! First clean the water hose from air bubbles before connecting the hose to the balloons. Then put something soft inside so the balloons don't hit the rough surface when they inflate (wop!). Try to keep the hose slightly elevated so the balloons barely touch the soft surface on the floor (otherwise the plastic inflation tip could pierce the sides of the balloons, bang!). It is worth repeating: do not pump! (Pop!) Once the balloons are the size shown in the picture, simply turn off the water and gently remove the balloons from the inflation tips. We lost the first set due to all of the above, but hopefully you didn't. Despite this lesson we had a great time! It's way better than doing it by hand!
