Review on 🛴 Grey Mongoose Kids Tire Scooter by Raymond Wade

Something has to be REALLY good or REALLY BAD for me to think about it. This is the last. I would give zero stars if I could. I was looking for a scooter for my son that could do more than a normal razor: a little bit off-road, a little bit thick asphalt and a little bit long-distance comfort. It seemed ideal, with pneumatic tires and handbrakes on a long wheelbase. Installation was fairly easy and felt easy - I have been a cyclist for many years so this simple brake adjustment was easy to adjust and installing the wheels was a breeze. Unfortunately, the usability has evaporated here. I took my son for the first ride (he's on a scooter, I was jogging as usual) and the scooter seemed great for the first mile or so. Shortly thereafter, however, the front hub locked up completely and stopped spinning at all. We tried to solve the problem on the track but it didn't happen. I ended up having to carry the scooter home. At home in a minute I disassembled the front hub and the ball joints were cracked - half of them fell out when I unscrewed the hub nuts. I used to repackage mountain bike hubs, but they were beyond repair. They were never lubricated at the factory and appeared to be made of something more durable than foil, in short, utterly useless. Since wheel spin is a fairly expensive element of a scooter, this is an epic mistake. I disassembled the rear hub and it was a little better - the bearings were still in their housing, but without lubrication and running hard. Suffice it to say that this scooter will return to Revain. I'm not expecting $80 carbon fiber and titanium, but I do expect a working scooter that can last more than one ride without a major overhaul. I'm sending this piece of crap back and getting a razor with big wheels - I think pneumatic wheels and performance hubs in one package is asking too much.
