The needle is very strong and I haven't broken the tip or anything yet. This is used for sewing cables with Kansas City stitch. I can't tell you how valuable it can be to have a sewing needle while lacing up a cable. I hate using Jonard's plastic grip version because it's just cheap. The needle with the clear orange plastic handle was great, but they don't make one like that anymore. Just make sure you check your headquarters to see if you can use a non-insulated tool at your workplace. For those who are not professional telecom installers, this can be a great tool to help you tidy up those new cabinets etc. Don't buy the cheaper version, go for the quality so you end up buying twice.
