Pros: - Powerful - Dual air vents - Low noise - Flow control Cons: - High pitched tone with high flow can be a problem for some. for an inexpensive, high-performance pump, and at first glance this pump can really convince. The packaging was very pretty - the product was wrapped in special foam for extra protection. Bonus - you can use the top insert as a pump mat to reduce noise if that's what you need! The size was a little larger than I expected but I have a good sized shelf and it still packs away with my setup. . Firstly, I'm happy to say that the noise is really quiet. Yes you will still hear the hum but unlike other pumps I don't actually have to put it on a gasket for it to muffle the noise! Next comes flow - the low noise level made me wonder if flow would be an issue (as is the case with many pumps I've tried) but this one handles my 50 gallon tank with no problem. I was even able to use the 2nd port which I never could. The flow control works well, but the higher you turn the knob, the higher the tone starts to sound. So I keep it in the middle where it stays still. In short, this pump is worth buying. I will update over time - sometimes the pumps start off strong but stop within a year. Hopefully this is the end of my search!
