I use it to add hot water when bathing children. We have an old apartment and the hot tap water runs out pretty quickly so I don't know how it tastes. When using it for the first time, when heating the water, deposits / traces have already appeared on the bottom. According to the seller, these marks will appear if you empty the kettle completely and put it back on the base because the base is still hot and will continue to boil, drying out the bottom of the kettle. But not on mine, it appeared when cooking. I just followed the directions and literally added a small amount until all the metal was covered, so just a little bit of vinegar, I let it sit for 5-10 minutes and it magically disappeared. 2 minutes but the water has warmed up because the kettle seems to be hot and after 10 minutes it still hasn't boiled so I didn't wait for it to boil. I just used it as is - probably because I filled it to the max line and it cooks forever. She has a pretty short lead for those who are curious. Cool light, very soothing. I will continue to use it as bath water.
