So far, so good! good food

My dog has been eating this food for about two weeks now and he seems to like it. She had had an ear infection for about 6 months and we couldn't find out the cause until someone at the local pet shop mentioned it might be potatoes which are so common in many dog foods these days. He explained that since the potato is a starch that is converted to sugar in the body, excess starch feeds the yeast normally found in the ear and leads to overpopulation, leading to "infection". A few weeks after we switched her to salmon and sweet potato dog food, I was curious to see if switching again would help. I asked around and a friend recommended Victor so I bought a bag to try. We made a very short transition, only about 3 days, and combined the rest of her other food with Victor. I would normally do more, about a week, but we almost ran out of their other food. I was afraid it would cause digestive/intestinal problems because she had problems with every new food we tried during the transition and sometimes just the new food for days. We had no problems with Victor! She's also cured an ear infection, so we'll see if she stays in check without potatoes and other added starches in her meals! A bonus for me is that Victor is a local Texas brand and I love supporting local products!
