Review on πŸ§€ Enhanced Grating Precision with Cuisipro Surface Glide Technology 4-Sided Boxed Grater by Ingrid Buell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The surface is a micro level, not a "grater ". do you care I do. If not, then you will probably like it.

This item does what it's supposed to do. It appears to be of durable material and construction. The price is good. However. I don't know about you, but I firmly believe in the quality of the end product: grated cheese. That's all I really bought it for (it had the highest rating on The Wirecutter). I grew up in an Italian family and I have certain demands when it comes to the kitchen. With Parmajana and Romano I want grated cheese. It's not "stressful". The cut surfaces are microplanes rather than traditional round holes. If desired, the grid turns out to be a thin, fluffy "cloud". I want grated cheese that you can take with your hand and control the distribution. It will instead collapse into a ball. It also melts too quickly on hot food (maybe you like it, I don't). Well, for some people, that's fine. I don't, and it takes me a hell of a long time to find one of these rotarys that are made of any quality. Also, again a personal preference, I grate a lot at once for storing/freezing so I don't have to pull out the grater every time I want shredded cheese (which I often do!). So I don't like the flat surface paradigm. Takes forever. BUT, it's good gear if you're interested in this particular type of instrument. I just peeled the zest from 14 lemons to make limoncello and it was quick, easy and gave great results (although I scratched my knuckles a few times). .Big is not there). If your standards don't match mine then you should definitely love this.

Pros
  • Non-slip handle and removable base for added stability
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
