My card reader bay allows double the speed, which I didn't expect as it's USB 3.1 based. USB-C should be much faster. Instead, it's half the speed of my NZXT card reader. Strange. Tried via USB 3 interface with USB-C adapter and tried via direct USB-C connection with integrated motherboard connector on Aorus TRX40 MASTER. Only about 20 MB/s achieved. Achieved 40MB/s with nzxt USB3.0 card reader bay. Does that strike you as strange? To make matters worse, I was able to use the card as a network drive and copy files to a completely different computer on my network at 40MB/s. I thought this USB-C would be faster than this one, but unfortunately it doesn't hold water. Its form factor and device compatibility offer a level of convenience that still serves a purpose. Unfortunately a slow goal.
