It really works! - Memory card reader

I just upgraded to a MacBook Pro with USB and am struggling to return all my accessories. (Thanks to Apple for removing the SD card slot, I'm happy to spend more money for the Mac experience). Okay, enough of Apple's ranting. What I needed was a way to read the micro sd cards and the old way of using the sd adapter was a little clumsy, I think it works great, you can plug in the cards and they will at first times recognized. a pain (I hate blue LEDs) but the size and how well it works makes it…

USB 2.0 speed in card readers

Bought this for a cheap laptop that I upgraded with more RAM. I have some spare 128GB mSD cards that I could play with. WoW, Diablo, Wolcen, BF4 and a few others that I like to enjoy on the go, at work or when traveling. it is slow 28-31MB/s read/write speed no matter what latest micro SD card I use. There are no updated drivers on the Chinese site. Windows reads it as a "GENERIC MASS STORAGE" device. I mean, what the heck, I thought I'd get the 90-120MB/s read/write speed that one of my micro…

Slow Write Speed - Memory Card Reader

I used a Samsung 64GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC Evo Select memory card with adapter to do an unofficial write speed test of this Rocketek card reader. I copied a 5.9GB movie file from a 2018 MacbookPro SSD to a Samsung microSD card connected to this Rocketek USB-C card reader. The maximum write speed achieved by this card reader was was 19.9 MB/s. I did the same exercise with a Samsung microSD card connected to a Nekteck USB C OTG SD 4.0 card reader at up to 250MB/s for SDXC. The maximum write…

Terribly slow. Video files cannot be read

The product looks good. When I was looking for a compact micro SD to USB-C reader it was perfect for the job. There are 2 main reasons I gave it 2 stars. 1. The transfer rate is excruciatingly slow. It took about 8 minutes to transfer a 4GB video file. That's just over 8 Mbit/s! Even USB 2.0 is rated at 480 Mbit/s. Even a small 10 second video of it is impossible to watch. After 2 seconds all video will stop.2. The external Micro SD slot is poorly aligned with the internal slot. This works, but

Speeds are slow, but it's small and easy to use.

My card reader bay allows double the speed, which I didn't expect as it's USB 3.1 based. USB-C should be much faster. Instead, it's half the speed of my NZXT card reader. Strange. Tried via USB 3 interface with USB-C adapter and tried via direct USB-C connection with integrated motherboard connector on Aorus TRX40 MASTER. Only about 20 MB/s achieved. Achieved 40MB/s with nzxt USB3.0 card reader bay. Does that strike you as strange? To make matters worse, I was able to use the card as a network…

Great little adapter.

When you need something small enough to read a small microSD card. It's the thing, it's compact, they easily fit in your pocket and never stand out. The quality is decent and it reads the card with no problems. The speed seems to be accurately represented by the speed of the card itself and no degradation has been observed. Anyway, a good little adapter should be kept in your pocket when you maybe need to replace your phone's SSD card and use it on your computer. This makes it fast and…

Gets warm very quickly - memory card accessories

So the second or third device of this size that unfortunately got warm within a few minutes of use. I played 30 seconds of the song, transferred the photo and opened the pdf as usual to check how they work. Everything worked fine and relatively quickly, but after 5 minutes the device was warmed up. Indeed very hot. I was afraid that my card might be damaged. So I took it out of the phone and took out the card. I didn't test this on any other device because I didn't want to sacrifice a card to…
