Safety First!: Vests

I believe that anyone who does a lot of outdoor work, be it a contractor or handyman, needs a reflective vest or shirt needs. It's just safer and allows you to be more visible in all circumstances, regardless of the lighting. After all, your own protection should come first. Now that I have my soap dish ready, let's talk about the life jacket. The one I chose was bright orange with gray outlines. Both the orange and gray areas of the vest reflect light directed at the vest. The average height I received is perfect for me at 5'10. It is fastened with a Velcro fastener in the front central part. My only complaint about the vest is that the quality seems a bit cheap. As you can see from the attached photos, the seams came undone even before I put it on. I don't see this vest holding up to many washes if washed once a week. The vest is also very thin, but it might suit those who work outdoors and don't want anything too heavy or warm. Overall, I think the reflective material is very good, but I doubt its durability. Only time will tell, but loose stitching doesn't make a good first impression.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
