Review on Spring-Loaded Heavy Caster Ladder by Mark Gancio

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The gate must be at exactly the right height from the ground.

This wheel will only work if the height of the gate from the ground is within a very narrow window of approximately 3 to 4 inches. If you look at the picture you will see that when the wheel is rotated towards the caliper it overlaps the caliper. If the bottom of the gate overlaps the wheel as it rotates this way, the wheel will lock the gate and prevent it from moving. This happens when the gate height is less than about 3 inches. However, there is only about an inch between the top edge of the wheel and the bottom bolt hole. If the bottom is higher than about 4 inches, there is no way to attach the mount and place the wheel on the ground. There is no adjustment mechanism. the height of the wheel after installation. This wheel fits a gate with a lot of sag, and the height isn't that important, you just want it off the ground. For a gate you want to keep at a certain height it's not very practical unless you're lucky and the height will be just right.
