Review on Philips Norelco 6880/81 Shaver 6800: Ultimate Rechargeable Wet/Dry Electric Shaver with Trimmer Attachment by Renee Walters

Change for the sake of change.

I've been shaving with Norelco rotary razors since I left the military 31 years ago. While I've never found any other brand or type of razor satisfactory, I have to tell you that every time my old one goes in the trash, I grit my teeth for fear of seeing what stupid new "features." " Norelco has come up with. . next. In the past, this has mostly been limited to minor and pointless modifications to the cutterhead drive system, so the new and old cutterheads are not interchangeable. Or I think that might make sense. In any case, I never noticed that the new cutting heads actually cut or float much better than the old ones. Well, this time they decided to change the loading system as well. Instead of a simple, strong, thick, shock-absorbing, twisted-pair power cord, we now have a transformer-like thing that plugs into the wall and a thin and fragile straight wire that goes to the razor. And the worst part is you can't shave with this thing plugged in! WHAT'S THIS?! I don't know how many million times my battery died in the middle of a shave when I was rushing to get to an important point on time. I NEED something to work from the power cord! Of course this model has a 5 minute quick charge for one shave, but that's 5 minutes when I'm not shaving and sometimes 5 minutes is too much.
