There is nothing 8x10" about them. I just assumed like all other frames 8 x10" with a mat is the inside dimensions 8x10" with a mat.It's too late for me to return them. My 8x10" prints look silly now. You have to check everything.The frame itself is 10.3x12.6"Without the mat it's 9.4x11.8"With the mat the opening is 7.5x9.5"If you want to frame a 8x10" photo with mat you would use an 11x14" frame but when it's being sold, it's sold as an 8x10".If you want to frame a 5x7" photo with mat you would use a 8x10" frame, but it would be advertised as a 5x7".
