i can't review this for a camp out scenario, but it works out for sitting in a recliner. I have movement room, it's warm, and I can zip up or down as the room temperature requires. I am always cold, another family member is always hot. We have to set the temperature at a compromise temperature. This works better than a blanket, and it really does roll back up to fit in the carrier.I am short and can roll it up at the top to go behind my neck like a pillow.
