Great Case but strong plastic smell

Edit to add, two months later and the plastic smell is still very strong. Sometimes it is almost as if I am smelling trash.The case is designed very nicely. The color is lovely. My iPad is totally protected. The slot for the Apple Pencil is a nice addition. I would have given it 5 stars but it smells very strongly of plastic. Sometimes when I am sitting and on my iPad, I can smell the plastic. I have had the case out of the packaging for at least 2 weeks. Otherwise it is a good case.

Cons

The case may not provide enough protection against drops, spills, or other accidents that could damage the iPad
