Temperature reading wy off

I tested this controller (at least the one I got) through all it's temperature settings using both a digital and analog thermometers. I like to cook ribs on my grill at 225 degrees for about 4-41/2 hours. To get that temp I had to set the dial at 180 degrees. The thermometers inside said 225 degrees, the digital readout on the controller said 270 degrees. While I didn't pay 150 dollars for this controller, I'm hesitate to give it any more than two stars.

Pros

Fit perfectly for when my dog chewed up the other one

Cons

They work as designed but hard to figure out what size hole to drill.
