I have been repairing simple parts on my cars such as shock absorbers for years. Now I'm 70 so I went to Pep Boys and the girl told me $220 for 2 shocks and a setup. She was clearly an idiot, so I ordered her and installed it myself in 30 minutes. They fit perfectly and worked flawlessly.
