I need my 30# Terrier to stay in the back seat so he can't reach the shifter and knock it out. I bought this set because I wasn't sure if I needed a headrest harness or a seat belt. Both work well (I have a 2008 Toyota RAV 4. The seat belts work well on the left and right buckles but not in the middle). with the left and right seat belts. One day my dog stepped on the seat belt and unbuckled my granddaughter. My granddaughter informed me that she was not wearing a seat belt so I could stop and re-buckle her seat belt. So I don't think the harness is used for the dog because I can't risk him stepping on it and getting loose.
