Review on ☕ Efficient Brewing: Calphalon BVCLECMP1 Temp iQ Espresso Machine with Steam Wand by David Bott

The quality of espresso machines in the <$400 price range seems to vary widely, so I bought Calphalon hoping the brand name would mean something. I might be wrong. The body of the machine is made of plastic, not metal. The instructions seem too complicated (example: you need to run hot water through all parts before making espresso). If the extra preparation doesn't bother you, the espresso is quite strong with a good crema. (Tip: use coarsely ground coffee, otherwise the espresso can burn). Unfortunately, this device's vapor pressure is too high for reliable foam, and there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the pressure. After rinsing away the milk splattered all over the kitchen, I'm left with a few tablespoons of warm milk with some foam. I will return it to try another car.
