I've read as many digital voice recorder reviews as I could. There were three main reasons for my purchase: 1. Size 2. Long working hours without turning and changing the belts. 3. Better sound quality, ie. no engine noise in the background. Size and duration are ok. But the sound quality is very disappointing. It was no better than a cassette. In fact, not even close to a small monophonic tape recorder. The audio wasn't as crisp, with some background noise. I tried high and low sensitivity mic settings, listened through headphones, and re-recorded the output on another larger recording speaker. All the while comparing it to a small 8 year old Sony cassette player for $20. The tape recorder won. For me, it definitely wasn't worth the [$$] I paid for it. I returned it to the store 24 hours after purchase for a refund. For someone where size is a priority, or for personal notes, this would be fine, but still overpriced.
