My experience with the Sony digital voice recorder

I've read as many digital voice recorder reviews as I could. There were three main reasons for my purchase: 1. Size 2. Long working hours without turning and changing the belts. 3. Better sound quality, ie. no engine noise in the background. Size and duration are ok. But the sound quality is very disappointing. It was no better than a cassette. In fact, not even close to a small monophonic tape recorder. The audio wasn't as crisp, with some background noise. I tried high and low sensitivity mic

Great mic, great memory!

This voice recorder is inexpensive and easy to use. The microphone picks up distant voices well. I've used it in small college classrooms and large classrooms and it picked up everything the professors said. The capacity is amazing: 6 hours of recording in top quality (SP) and more than 8 hours in lower quality (LP) I think. Works well for the price

Most microcassette recorders are very battery hungry. This little digital voice recorder runs for hours on a AAA device (plus you don't have to listen to the tape recorder running in the background of your recording). I bought it from a local electronics store that is known for selling radios (at full retail price).
