Review on Renegade 400 Hiking Boot for Kids from Northside by Curtis Thilges

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Comfortable in my opinion

Bought these for my 10 year old son. He absolutely loved her. We went camping/trekking for 3 days and 2 nights in early spring and temperatures ranged from 30 degrees at night to mid 60 degrees during the day. He stayed warm and dry in them and marveled at how comfortable they felt throughout the trip. He had the right hiking socks for that, and that goes a long way. We covered just over 15 miles in 3 days in these boots. He usually wears a size 5 but is growing fast. With a heavy sock we went for a size 6. They fit well and he had no friction problems. Hoping to get at least a full season, maybe two of those, but it's hard to tell how quickly the kids are growing up. We had no issues with lace or grommets as mentioned by some other reviews. Time will tell but for now I'm very happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • I live in the Northeast and we have 29 inches of snow. My feet stayed warm and dry in the snow all day
Cons
  • May not be as durable as other hiking shoes on the market.
