SO GREAT So my husband and I are jerks and we wanted science at our wedding. So we bought two boxes and spent the night before the wedding carefully cutting them apart to separate the two liquids. (The plastic wrap contains hydrogen peroxide; the inner tube is glass and contains a fluorescent substance. If you invert the tube, the glass will shatter and the chemicals will interact and glow.) [Note that this is somewhat dangerous; The process involves breaking glass and handling toxic chemicals. We both work in a lab and we have safety protocols. Don't do this at home, kids!] It took forever, but it was worth it. There were real oohs and aahs during the bonding ceremony as we brought the two separated liquids back together to create an intense glow that lasted into the next day.
