UPDATE: While I love the design and performance, I want to address the elephant in the room that so many people have been asking about - the smell! We've had it for a few months now and despite regular cleaning it REALLY stinks no matter what I do. Vinegar, dish soap, baking soda, scrubbing with a tiny wire brush — nothing completely got rid of the "old cream, burnt coffee” stench. I'm really angry. But it can be bought 4 times a year so that it is safe to drink. I tried 6 different cups in six months. They were either leaking, had a broken latch, felt hot to the touch, didn't clean well, or just didn't keep the coffee hot for more than 30 minutes. This mug does all of those things and I couldn't be happier because I was ready to give up. The list above also includes another 16-ounce bottle of Contigo. The cup kept warm, but the slide broke after 2 months and could not be cleaned. But I digress. During the month-long "test" period of repeated daily use, there was nothing wrong with the features or performance, so here are the results that I was very happy with: • Incredibly easy-to-clean upper. Yes! No more waking up after washing my hands the night before, ready to put on a tank top, only to find a colony of mold settling right where my mouth would be. The plug, which can be removed for cleaning, can also be easily removed and effortlessly replaced. You can put a lid on the top shelf of the dishwasher, but I've heard of that before and don't want to risk it. • Can really be operated with one hand. No need to balance the steering wheel on your knees, if you pick it up with your right hand, open the lid with your left and try to grab a cardboard hydration kit, try not to spill and hit the road claims are actually TRUE. • Stylish modern look • Heavy duty but not as strong • Description says 20 oz size keeps you warm for 7 hours but I got 16 and after 6 hours the contents were about twice as hot as finished (78 degrees) . . Pretty impressive. In short, buy this mug. Don't spend $80 on a fancy piece when this elegant silver mug will do the job just as well, if not better! Please let me know if this was helpful, thanks!
