I'm an amateur welder at best and a big fan of these silicone bronze brazing rods for aesthetic reasons. I've built a few pieces of furniture out of mild steel, but instead of using the standard MIG or TIG welding, I used these silicone bronze rods with my TIG build. I then used Brownell's Gun Blueing to darken the steel but it doesn't affect the bronze so you end up with cool bronze/gold solder joints contrasting with the dark steel which looks really cool to me. And when done right, supporting a 37" x 90" x 2.5" sheet of Tigerwood is no problem.
